An artist’s statement, of a sort…

I find I am uninterested in being unprecedented, avant garde, or cutting edge. I haven’t spent long enough in the world of art to have exhausted the potential of traditional media or have grown bored with challenge of observing and representing physical reality.

I am also uninterested in being commercial and hustling to build a brand or stay on top of popular, marketable themes and trends.

I guess that leaves me where I began–as a crafter & maker, a dabbler and dilettante driven by curiousity, play, and the desire to ground myself in captured moments as an antidote to the narrative fever of the “information age.”
